The Next Step
Camp Broadway®'s The Next Step offers a specialized musical theater intensive of musical theater classes taught by Broadway professionals, for aspiring teen performers, ages 14-17, who have had some previous on-stage experience. A highly unique program, The Next Step weaves traditional musical theater training into an immersive theatrical environment designed to give participants the opportunity to understand what it’s really like to be a Broadway “Gypsy.” Inspired by the landmark musical A Chorus Line, The Next Step places emerging triple-threats into a setting that surrounds an authentic audition process for a Broadway show.
Through singing, dancing, and acting workshops, participants will “discover their character,” be it an ingenue, a comedic performer, or a belting diva. Over the course of the five days, they will channel this character in preparation for The Next Step Showcase, performed at Shea's 710 Theatre. Camp Broadway’s team promises a program that uses the process of exploring art to inspire a more self-aware young artist.
We are excited to be the first city outside of New York City to offer this camp!
