Day 3 at Camp Broadway proved to be a very busy and very exciting day for both the campers and our Camp Broadway team. In addition to rehearsing for their upcoming performance, our campers got to meet and talk to special guest speakers, and even show some of Buffalo a little bit of what's in store for their performance this Friday.
The first guests that stopped by were the Shea's Senior Staff. The campers had the chance to learn the ins and outs of the theatre industry from a production standpoint. They discussed all the things involved in putting a professional show together, such as development, finance, operations, and the intricate technical aspects as well. Campers were eager to ask questions and hear from experienced professionals about the different career paths that theatre has to offer behind the scenes.
The next guest speaker was 2019 Kenny Award Winner and 2019 Jimmy Award Nominee for Outstanding Actor in a leading role for his performance as Jean Valjean in Les Miserables, Matthew Wilson. Matt came in and talked to the campers about his performance experience and what it was like to perform on a real Broadway stage in New York City. They also got to hear about what he has been doing since performing at the Jimmy Awards, including opportunities from a New York City based talent and casting agency.
