This Sunday, June 5, TheatreMania will present the 61st Annual Drama Desk Awards at New York's Town Hall. In addition to the 32 Drama Desk award categories, the Special Award is given annually to an individual or organization that has made a significant contribution to theatre on Broadway, Off-Broadway, and Off-Off-Broadway. This year, Drama Desk will bestow five Special Awards, including one to Camp Broadway for "playing a crucial role in creating tomorrow's audiences."

Camp Broadway is known in Western New York for its annual week-long summer camp at Shea's Performing Arts Center. For the past 15 years, hundreds of campers between the ages of 10 and 17 have participated in this week-long intensive theatre camp that mirrors the rehearsal schedule and commitment required of a Broadway production. The incredible team of theatre professionals from Camp Broadway work with students of
